Wow, what a lot of great ideas!

In my community the Jewish Family and Children's Service provides gifts to needy families during the holidays, which in turn provides the whole community with ample opportunities to volunteer their time and/or resources. There are opportunities to donate gifts, wrap gifts, and deliver gifts.

It doesn't have to take a lot of money to give during the holidays. Making some baked goods can be very inexpensive, as can providing a play date for the child of a friend who could use a break.

I must admit that at times I feel like I have nothing left to give. At those times, trying to match someone with something they need can be a *huge* help, without taking much of my own energy. The other day I was speaking to a friend who's having a hard time of it recently. I thought of another friend who might be able to help, and made a connection between the two.

Thanks so much for all the wonderful ideas!
